First we'll make snow angels for a two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookiedough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle.

A little last minute gift that I made for one of my sister's.  I mailed out a few packages on monday filled with peanut brittle and rugelach.  It's been a busy week, an exhausting week.  Not enough sleep and too many hours of work but there is a light and I can see it!

Our house is warm and decorated, we are safe and healthy.  What amazing gifts.  I feel so fortunate.

Last weekend I was working at the restaurant and there was a moment just before the rush when I just sat down at a table, no one was in the dining room.  It was a quiet spot by the tree.  I just sat there for a minute or two.  My mind completely blank, my spirit open.  I sat and stared at the lights and listened to my breath in and out and my heart beat.  It was so peaceful.  I was amazed that I don't do that enough.  Just sit, and not think about a million things at once.  In that stillness I found so much energy.  It was exactly what I needed.
