Can't Hardly Wait
Little music in the background by the Replacements.
What have I done today? It's 2pm. I have been busy. sort of. drinking coffee. making chicken soup, glazed chicken drumsticks, wheat free banana bread. Spray painting, laundry and texting my son who is on a hunting trip until late tonight. I have been working on a class for the Cocoa Daisy Crop on November 11-13th.
I have been wishing it would stop raining and that the sun would come out for more than 10 minutes at a time. I have been thinking about fall and how I am not ready for winter.
I have been avoiding the news and wondering how everything is going to work itself out. I wish I could wave a magic wand and fix stuff. I know I can't.
I have been adjusting to a new roll as a mom. With two teenage boys I have been pushed to the passenger seat role. I am still here but more as an advisor and less of a director. They have opinions and ideas all their own. Some of them I am not so sure about, but Bill and I have given them standards and I know they have a moral compass deeply rooted into their hearts. I can only be here and pray and hope for the best.
I have been missing roller derby practice and need to figure out how to do that. I love it. It is wonderful and so much fun but it is a huge commitment and this is a busy time in life for me. I really am not making excuses I just don't have much extra time and it doesn't fit in so well with my schedule. I think it's important for me to be around as much as possible during the week. Working 2 or 3 nights a week makes it hard to practice 2 nights a week. That means little face time with the men in this house. Especially now that they are busy all weekend.
I have been thinking about Christmas and about making presents. I have some great ideas and am excited to start.
I have been dreaming about some future things. Plans that are forming slowly in my head. Not knowing exactly how they will happen or if they could. Just thinking.
What are you doing today?

Love reading your thoughts! I´m a bit sore today, fell backwards over a hurdle yesterday:( I´m the clumsiest ever!! It´s not raining here, for a change, YAY! I´m off for a walk, as usual and then some paperwork and maybe, just maybe i should lie down for a while....;) hugs from over here
I love that you're sharing this Denise. Right now I'm nursing Tuva, thinking about how amazing life is. I'm also coughing, wishing it would stop. And I'm dreaming about painting some canvases and I wish I had more colors of spray paint than only black and white. I'm SO not ready for winter either. It was icy this morning and it's all foggy and dark now. Lots of hugs!
Thanks for chairing your thoughts Denise! I often think about how life will be when Max and Alice are older. Since I have both family and colleagues with teenagers I think I have some sort of idea of how it will be. But you newer know how your children will turn out, right? I hope we are able to give them the tools they need to face growing up to adults. But I don´t think it will be easier than having them small.
Oh I do think you work to hard Denise. But I know that you have the ability to embrace the moment and give your self some ME time. Sending cyberhugs to warm you up!
Can't wait to see what you're working on for Christmas. Can't believe it's almost November. And you sound like you're getting some lovely weather right now. LOL
Hope you get back to doing some roller derby soon. I know you love it!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
